news, issues and events for the heavy vehicle industry

Wednesday 5 August 2020

It certainly has been a dramatic week for so much of our industry, and for all Victorians, however it has been inspiring to work with so many of our members in such a collegiate and collaborative way.

HVIA is continuing to work closely with Government at Federal, State and local level, to ensure more certainty and clarity exists as the situation evolves.

As a result this week's edition of Talk the Torque is quite Victoria-centric and reiterates a lot that we have communicated through Member Advices in the last couple of days.

Might I take this opportunity to encourage all members to consider nominating a colleague, a product, a program or a process for the HVIA National Awards?

Awards like these are a proven antidote to promote, build and reward the best elements of your organisation's culture. This is certainly a time to keep spirits high and to acknowledge everyone's commitment and hard work.

We know this has been an incredibly stressful time and HVIA and our members around the country continue to hold their Victorian colleagues in our thoughts.

Victorian Stage 4 business and industry sector restrictions

The Victorian Government issued a list outlining which industry sectors and businesses would be forced to close for six weeks under Stage 4 restrictions.

HVIA released a member advice this morning detailing this important information and linking through to:

  • Victorian Premier Daniel Andrews' full statement
  • Vic Stage 4 business restriction lists
  • the new Permitted Worker Permit
