HVIA Director to head up SAF Holland

   

SAF Holland Australia has made HVIA Vice-President Mario Colosimo its Managing Director, effective on 3 February 2020.


Mr Colosimo has been an HVIA Director since 2015 and was returned as Vice-President in October 2019.


Departing Byrne Trailers for the role, he will report to the company’s President for Asia Pacific, India and China, Mike Ginocchio.


The Australian Trucking Association presented the Don Watson Memorial Award to Mr Colosimo  in 2010 for conspicuous service to the trucking industry.

PACCAR & dealers donate to bushfire appeal 

PACCAR's US parent company PACCAR Inc. has donated $70,000 to the Australian Red Cross, bumped up by PACCAR Australia Dealers to $100,000.

     

Industry present bushfire recovery plan 

A recovery plan for trucking businesses affected by the bushfire crisis has been proposed to the Australian Government.


Developed by the Australian Trucking Association (ATA) General Council and put forward to federal transport minister Michael McCormack via a teleconference, the plan comprises disaster recovery allowance, concessional loans, and extension of the instant asset write-off.

     

Bruce Rock move into Geraldton 

Bruce Rock Engineering has expanded its Western Australian footprint with the acquisition of D-Trans Motor Body Builders in Geraldton.

     

NHVR Portal – vehicle standards update

Vehicle Standards applications can now be managed through the NHVR Portal. 

     

Accelerating Commercialisation Grants

The Entrepreneurs’ Programme is an Australian Government’s initiative to improve business competitiveness and productivity by
  • accelerating the commercialisation of novel intellectual property in the form of new products, processes and services;
  • supporting new businesses based on novel intellectual property with high growth potential; and
  • generating greater commercial and economic returns from both public and private sector research and facilitate investment to drive business growth and competitiveness.
